Tips for Traveling on a Plane with Kids
All my favorites from our recent trip to Colorado! This was our first time traveling as a family of four and it went much better than I could have imagined. Keep your expectations low, friends
snacks! Lots of ‘em. Georgia loves this spinning snack holder. Too bad we left it (fully stocked) in a security bin on way to CO. One of those “I thought you put it back into the book bag” parent moments. Whoops. I already ordered a replacement.
Slumber-pod! Yes, you need one. We have used this on many many trips. Has a little slot for your monitor or sound machine. Easy to assemble and packs up like a tiny tent; doesn’t take up too much space in your suitcase. Even if it did.. make room! So worth it.
Screens + headphones! Bless you if you are screen free home. That’s amazing. We are not. Screens are a tool and travel is the perfect time to use that tool. We brought Georgia’s iPad but the plane screens did the heavy lifting for our flights. Remember to bring the little black cord for the plane (if your headphones are wireless). Randomly a little girl sitting behind Georgia had the exact same set, same color even! Must be a good pair that Amazon directed us Moms to.
Puzzle bags! Perfect for packing anything and everything. Especially packing your kids clothing by days. Also linked some vinyl days of the week labels that ai’m adding to our bags.
Toys: Keep it small and easy. Suction toys are great for the plane or car. Also the rainbow scratch off pad was a favorite for Georgia (just turned 4).
Stroller: Helps keep kids contained, you can hook your bags to it, easy to check right before you hop on the plane… need I say more.
Patience! Can’t buy that but wouldn’t it be nice if you could load up before a family vacation. Take the trip! The memories outweigh the inconvenience.
