Valentine’s Day Library for Kids

One of our favorite traditions is swapping out Georgia’s library for the current holiday or season! Reading is such a vital part of our educational journey, so we try to make it as fun as possible. We started this tradition a few years back, when Georgia was just starting to form her love for books. Check out this same library styled for Halloween and Christmas.

We designated a special play in her playroom using acrylic shelves to create a floating library that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional, a mom’s dream come true. I wait until she is napping or is in bed for the night and will swap out the books for new ones and decorate it with some inexpensive, festive decor. Watching her face as she takes in the new room when she wakes is so special! She thinks the festive fairies were hard at work, and they were, they just go by the name “mom”.

When in doubt, add garland!

How To Create a Valentine’s Day Library For Kids

This Valentine’s Day Library was extremely easy to create. Trust me, if I can do it, so can you! For starters I picked up a few books about love and friendship, all that matters is that they are on theme. Next, I added a tassel garland, along with a heart garland and topped it off with a sweet rainbow wall hanging decor that I couldn’t resist! In case you need a little inspiration I linked a few of my favorite Valentine’s Day garlands I think you’ll love too!

Having a whole “new” set of books, don’t be afraid to pull from ones that you already have, is such a great way to keep things fresh. You could even ask grandparent, aunts and uncles to send books instead of a card! Keeping it things exciting will keep your toddler engaged and interested in actually wanting to read! Plus, it gives you a break from having to read the same story for the 100th time! A win-win!
